How to permanantly install programs on my PDA?

I have a dell axim x50v PDA with windows mobile 2003 2nd edition. when i install programs through active sync, everything works. but if my battery dies, all the programs are gone the next time i turn it on. what can i do to prevent this?SmarterHousing: Raising The Standard
