Is there any difference between a smartphone & a PDA that can be used as a phone?

I have a IPaq PDA now which is great & want to upgrade to something that also is a phone. It will be more convienient to only have 1 devcice instead of 2. I’ve been looking online & mostly on ebay & have seen 2 catagories for them. Smartphones & PDA phones. I’m just wondering if there is actually a difference & if so what is it? Thanks!

  1. Different manufacturers brand their phones differently, but the most common would probably be:
    - smartphones are without the touchscreen feature and normally feature a number or QWERTY keyboard.
    - PDA phones are touchscreen models.

Note that Treos with touchscreens are branded as smartphones by Palm.
